Join Return to Wittenberg for our third annual conference, From Age To Age, which will examine the continuity of God’s Word throughout all of human history. Our various presentations will show the consistency of the Church’s proclamation of Scriptural truths “from age to age,” ultimately demonstrating that the doctrine of the Lutheran faith is the same teaching that the faithful saints and fathers of the Universal Church have always confessed.

In the spirit of the founding principles of our first annual conference, “What Does This Mean?”, R2W’s 2018 conference will be patterned around the Six Chief Parts of the Holy Catechism. While these central truths of God’s Word will form the bedrock of our conference, each of our presentations will examine a specific aspect of each Part in the context of our conference theme.

Our 2018 “theme verse” will be “God’s Word is Our Great Heritage,” from which the titular phrase of our conference theme is drawn. The famous Danish pastor Nikolai F. S. Grundtvig penned this verse in 1817 as a 5th stanza of Luther’s “A Mighty Fortress” in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Reformation:

God’s Word is our great heritage
And shall be ours forever;
To spread its light from age to age
Shall be our chief endeavor.
Through life it guides our way,
In death it is our stay.
Lord, grant, while worlds endure,
We keep its teachings pure.
Throughout all generations.

Note: Pastors have a duty to ensure that those who are admitted to the Altar of the Lord for Holy Communion are in a proper spiritual state to receive the Sacrament. Therefore, if you would like to receive the Sacrament, we ask that you please announce your intention to commune to one of the conference Pastors during the allotted time for “Announcing for Holy Communion” before going to the Sacrament at the Opening Service, or at some other time during the conference if you would only like to commune at the closing Service. Thank you for your cooperation.
